Back from Chicago
I had a great time, I've never been to Chicago before.
Brief list of the happenings:
-saw Wicked at the Ford Theatre. What an amazing musical! My tear ducts were full for most of the second act. I haven't seen a musical since I saw "The Lion King" quite a few years ago, and I'd forgotten how magical they can be. I highly recommend that you go see the show. It was Wicked.
-ran down a busy downtown-Chicago sidewalk with 45 other people in an attempt to catch a the tour boat. It was nuts. (We made the tour incidentally).
-went up the John Hancock Observatory Tower
-accidentally locked myself in a bathroom
-saw a set and a half of a blues concert. I now love the blues.
-went to the Oceanarium and Aquarium (name?) as well as the Museum of Science and Industry. Both very cool places...The museum is ginormous! A Boeing-747 Jet, an actual submarine (HUGE), helicopter, coal mine exhibit!...it was crazy! My favourite was the bubble room however. Quite fun.

"But it wasn't because I didn't know enough, I just knew too much"
Jack has mentioned it several times, Macleans has mentioned it in one of its lists of "things that make life worth living", I've heard it once on the radio...
I LOVE this song!
It's so catchy and I just want to dance every time I hear it. Slightly awkward when I'm listening to it on my mp3 player and others are around.

"When I have nothing to say, my lips are sealed"
So...not much to say. Been crazy busy. I've been developing plot lines for VBM, working on another art project, other life stuff...Life is good.
You know, I've been thinking about blogs quite a bit. (Natural to do so? I don't know). Anyways, they're a great forum to freely get your ideas, work, self, whatever out there. Mine are mostly short random entries, (hence random tangents), though there are the people who stick to one theme. I think it's good that there are both...and that there are lots of blogs/sites pertaining to one topic. It allows for a mass of input and perspectives to come in and hopefully broaden one's scope of thought. Then there's the side where you get so much information you almost don't know what's original anymore. It's important to step back a bit every once in a while. Keeps you sane.
Hooray thought of the day. (I guess I did have more to say than I originally thought.)

The first thing that made my day today
So today I wore this über-bright, fluroescent-neon yellow t-shirt. Think of the brightest yellow highlighter you've ever seen. Kind of like this, if you really need a visual.
As I walked through a public place, I passed a group of people. One guy in the group threw his arms up in front of his face and yelled "AHHHH! FLUORESCENT!"

Haha the second thing that totally made my day today
Amber pointed me to this
(See bottom of this blog for why it is so awesome. It's one of my favourite words to use in that context).

These would be great for bumper stickers. Or t-shirts.
"Honk if you love peace and quiet."
"On the other hand, you have different fingers."
"A day without sunshine is like, you know, night."
And a joke:
Did you hear about the corduroy pillows?
They’re making head lines across the nation!

Barely Listening
I've heard this song, "Barely Listening", by Pilate a few times, but the first time I heard it, I thought "Is this a new Radiohead tune?" It reminds me so much of Radiohead circa OK Computer, with the lead vocals and background angsty instrumentals/backing vocals. That's not a bad thing, but it was a bit of a shock.

The Adventures of Valence Bond Man!
I've created a comic! Episode 001 is now up. I'm still fussing with setup and such and my scanner was unavailable, so it's a photo of it for now.
Oh wow, I am SO excited for next week's episode, you have no idea =)
And yes. It's science-related. The comic. But different subjects will be featured! Big plans...
