I hate calling these things rants, but....

I do not get annoyed easily. Really. I like to think I've got a pretty good tolerance level.

HOWEVER.

You know those emails?

"This is *name1here*Sorry to inform you of this, but to many ppl are signing up for msn accounts and not using them. MSN only has 6 names left. Starting in summer 2006 you r going to have to pay for your email address unless you send this exact email to at least 16 friends, then msn will know your account is active. You can check this on msn.com. Sincerely, *name2here*"

Make it stop. Please.

Conclusion to the Musical Experiment

Holy shiznat. Every single song is amazing...and what's really cool is that they're all very different. SO.

Here we go! (zipped)
And here's Griffin's contribution (which was too large for me to include in that zipped file)

Track list (in no particular order other than alphabetically):

A Silver Mount Zion - Dead Marines
Braid - The New Nathan Detroits
Max Alexander - Roaring Sound of Percussive Banjos
Supertramp - Hide In Your Shell
Tegan and Sara - Where Does The Good Go?
Thrice - See You in the Shallows
Tiga - Far From Home (DFA vocal remix)

I did mix them together into one file but it was too large to YSI or email. Ah well.

I'm thinking that I'm definitely going to do this again...Thanks everyone!

More comics to read!

I just discovered Able and Baker. Very funny...this is my favourite so far.

It's been a while.

Sort of. A few days.

Interesting happenings:

I dropped a canvas on my foot the other day. Ouch.

I've decided to create a comic strip, and will post a link when I offically follow through with that.

The weather is nice again.

La dee da, life is good.

Musical Experiment

I'd like to make a mixtape. But I'd like some input...
ergo:

If you're interested in this, post a comment with a song title and artist (or if you have my email address, email me the song) and I will try to mix them together and post it as a You-send-it. And we shall have a mixtape of music from the readers of this blog! Woohoo!

(If I can't get the song you suggest I'll comment back and ask for another).

Go to!

Bwahaha.

F-bombs invade the world of comic strips.

GAH! DONE!

I just finished a soft pastel drawing of a woman sitting on a wooden lawn chair. It's about 2/3 of life size. i.e. huge. It's the largest art project I've done, and it was freehand. Oy vey. I'm definitely happy with it though.

Ha I've just imagined trying to get it framed...
"Yes, and what's the size of the artwork to be framed?"

"Freaking huge."

A tad early, but...

Happy Easter!

Rockin' song of the day

"Nobody Moves, Nobody Gets Hurt"
by We Are Scientists

I am LOVING this song. ROCK ON!

I'm so very witty.

What happened to the amateur cook's omelette?

It egg-sploded.

Dr McDreamy

Some friends and I will be watching the entire first season of Grey's Anatomy tonight. It's gonna be awesome.

It's actually the only show I make a good effort to watch every week. The whole idea, with the medical-comedy-romance-drama thing works very well. Plus I love the cast. For various reasons.

Inaugural Sunglasses Tuesday

I initiated a Sunglasses Tuesday for today. Those who forgot their sunglasses made fake ones with their fingers. It was awesome.

Garden State

I love the soundtrack to this movie...it's in my "Calm" playlist. It's also got quite a nice mix of artists, and two songs by the Shins, which I found interesting.

Maybe I should see the movie, too.

Words of "wisdom".

Why did the electron cross the potential energy barrier ?

To place itself in a position parallel, yet perpendicular to its original starting location.

What is the first thing you learn in Chemistry Lab?

Never lick the spoon.

Can anyone tell me how to widen the blogging area to take up the whole width of the space? (if that makes sense?) I've tried messing with the html but can't figure it out...I'd appreciate it. muchos gracias

An appearance!

The medical student was shocked when he received a failing grade in radiology. Approaching the professor, he demanded to know the reason for the grade.

"You know the self X-ray you took?" asked the professor.

"I do." said the student.

"A fine picture," the professor said, "of your lungs, stomach, and liver."

"If it's a fine picture, then why did you give me an F?" asked the student

"I had no choice," said the professor. "You didn't put your heart in it."

Oh Hipsters.

I'm a fan of high-quality new stories.

Mmm Bop.

Anyone remember that Hanson song? Insanely catchy, "Mmm bop, bop bop doo wop... etc". For various reasons I'm being subjected to listening to it way more than you'd think is bearable, but I'm actually having a good time. It's insanely cheerful and danceable.

Staring Contest.

I appreciate this for the fact that it's incorporating poetry, music (underlying, but still...), and an innovative way of moving you through the poem, letting you see it and hear the poet speak it. Poetry is better read aloud.

Thoughts on the Junos

I didn't get to catch the whole thing, but here are some thoughts...

Michael Bublé - Love him. Enough said. "Home" is a gorgeous song, as is "Feeling Good", the former in a ballad-type way and the latter in its jazzzzzzzzzzz (and due to the music video, I always picture a James Bond-type performance when I hear it).

Black Eyed Peas - If I ever express the desire to go see them live, someone PLEASE talk me out of it.

Broken Social Scene, Alternative Album of the Year - As they were announced..."there are going to be like 50 people on stage..." I haven't heard the new album yet, but I do thoroughly enjoy "7/4 Shoreline", basically the coolest song I've heard that's not in 4/4 time. Also awesome on its own.

Bryan Adams - is still a cool guy and can still rock.

Nickelback - I'm not a a big Nickelback fan. They just don't do anything for me. Although I heard the song "Animals" once... oh wow, those lyrics.

Metric - ? Did they end up performing? I thought they were supposed to...maybe I missed them?

That's it for now. Again, more on music later.
