Also:
It had better be sunny tomorrow.
I watched "Sunshine" this evening.
Production
I just finished making a bag out of floppy disks.
That's a bit of a lie; I need to attach the strap still, and work out a better hinge than the wire I'm currently using. It's still pretty sweet.
Apparently the new Safari browser is excellent. I need to look into it.
Any recommendations for cover songs? and/or remixes? I need a few for a mini project.
That's all for now.
Bands/artists to check out:
Knock Knock Ginger (myspace)
Band from Waterloo, Ontario. Excellent poppy songs. Highly recommend "Love Renee".
Malajube (myspace)
Band from Montreal, Quebec. Don't know too much about them, just that I need to check them out some more.
The Cat Empire (myspace)
Band from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. LOVE the song "Hello". Must check out more.
Mark Ronson (myspace)
Originally from London, England. Recently released an album called "Version", with a variety of song covers. Highly recommend the cover of Radiohead's "Just", and its music video.
Two Hours Traffic (myspace)
Indie/pop band from Charlottetown, PEI. Good stuff. Check out "Stuck for the Summer".
It's Peanut Butter Jelly Time!
Tech stuff
the iPhone's out...but will it blend?
Also, true story: a friend handed me her cell phone to see the teeth marks her dog put into it...but all I could think was "I wonder what this looks like on the inside?"
I'm still trying to decide what that means.
Reading
I've been on a Douglas Coupland kick lately. I've read "Hey Nostradamus", "Microserfs", and I'm currently working on "jPod". I love his style; it incorporates today's technology and things we take for granted into a weird and wonderful reading/art experience.
I've also started getting into comic books...current series-in-progress are "Fables" by Bill Willingham and "Y: The Last Man" by Brian K. Vaughan. I'm really enjoying the latter so far.
And, speaking of sci-fi, William Gibson has a new novel coming out.
Ba dum csh.
Why does a seagull live by a sea, and not by a bay?
Because then it would be a bay-gull.
oh dear.
