We Were Lucky.
Tuesday evening found me in downtown Toronto for the Modest Mouse show at the Hummingbird Centre. Great show, everyone got into it. Opening act was Love as Laughter, apparently from Brooklyn. They were alright, a little too much reliance on loudness for my liking. "Paul Revere" was kind of entertaining though.
But Modest Mouse: good, good stuff. It would have been worth it even if I just saw them perform "Float On". "Tiny Cities Made of Ashes", "Dashboard", and "Ocean Breathes Salty" were also awesome. I should probably just post a set list, as, really, all the songs were great. MM only played for about an hour, and motored through the tunes, but it all worked out, as otherwise I would have missed a rather vital ride home.
Marmaduke Explained
This is rather funny, especially since I, too, find Marmaduke kind of ridiculous. His commentary is awesome.
The same creator, "Joe Mathlete", will draw anything you want him to on an index card, and since I'm a science nerd and all, I love this one.
Holiday
Had a nice Easter weekend with the family...yesterday involved the entire extended family gathering, which was a lot of fun, and also involved what was pretty much a two-hour lunch, featuring dinner food. It was excellent. Gah, now I'm drooling.
Serenity FTW
In an SFX magazine poll, Serenity was named top sci-fi movie, beating out Star Wars and other films of the genre.
