The Customer
Tales of when the customer is not always right. Good for a chuckle.
You've probably seen it already...
...but this is probably the most controversial comic I've ever read.
Internet Hard Drive
I'm doing a fair chunk of reading on cyberspace, privacy, anonymity, etc. etc. I'll probably post some articles at a later point (i.e. once I've actually fully read all of them), but in searching through Wired I came across this article, which brings up some thoughtful points on the lack of permanence on the Internet. It especially hit me because a couple of articles I wanted to save a copy of disappeared in the last couple of days (due to annual updates that wipe old articles). Hm. Slightly disconcerting...like losing a library.
Sometimes I think about my links, too...they'll probably be gone sooner or later. Heck, this blog won't exist at some point, I suppose.
Back to reading.
Silence
Whew. I finally stopped being lazy and looked at the CBC Radio 3 player code again. So now it doesn't autoplay and cause potential awkwardness and headaches by music randomly blasting.
New favourite toy/tool
While someone was using my laptop (I'm not going to name names), my MacBook, they launched a number of windows and programs, didn't know how to close them, and left. This would typically be much to my chagrin, however, somehow she launched Speech commands. Oh my. I have found my new favourite Mac tool/function/toy, methinks.
30-second later EDIT: AND you can get it to tell you knock knock jokes! ("tell me a joke")
Add it to the list
Latest reason why I love xkcd: limericks.
One of note:
A dying mosquito exclaimed,
"A chemist has poisoned my brain!"
The cause of his sorrow
Was para-dichloro-
Diphenyl-trichloroethane.
Now, to write my own.
