Look Around You
I had the good fortune to have the show "Look Around You" recommended to me today. I've watched a couple episodes of the first series and they're wonderful. Very subtle science humour (but very funny, if you catch it) in the ones I've watched so far.
(you can find the first series here, among other places).
"Open Unmarked Doors"
This week's (start) daily updated xkcd is awesome...today's especially. It's all inspirational, and then WHAM, panel 6.
Geeky Crafty Creative Wonders to Share
Instructables is my new favourite site. They have instructions (with pictures/illustrations!) on how to make or do the most random stuff. Such as making plasma out of a grape and match in your microwave (note that that's under the "not liable" section).
In any event, I am totally making myself a new wallet. I will post pictures when I actually get around to doing it. (Also note that if you search "wallet" you get 108 results, about 80 of which are actual wallets. Different wallets as the new fashion must-have? Hm.)
"What is going on in your kitchen!?"
I almost forgot to mention! -- the Sordid Affairs is (are?) back!
No camcorders for yoooouuuuu.
Warner Bros. has decided to not allow any promotional screenings of their films in Canada anymore. Apparently we record videos and pirate them too much. I'm pretty sure, howvere, those types of rips are sorted through and ignored for better ones.
Also mentioned in that "article" is how they're going to be selling their major movies online in Hong Kong. Hm.
Music mix time again!
It's been just over a year since my last mixtape madness effort, and I'd like to do it again. My music-in-rotation needs some spicing up!!
What I'm looking for from you, dear readers and friends, is a song for this mix/playlist. I need the song title and artist left in a comment, and it would be wonderful if you could email me the song, or post a YouSendIt link. I will list a final playlist after I've received enough suggestions.
Thanks all!
EDIT: I'm also going to pick a song, methinks. Hm.
Just something to think about
I was chatting with my chiropracter yesterday, and, while discussing the merits and downfalls of glasses and contact lenses, she brought up what I thought was a good point.
Optometry, she said, is the only field where it's expected for your condition to worsen, and is unusual for you to get better.
Byebye Facebook
The Ontario government has banned Facebook for Ontario government reps. Understandable, but unfortunate for those who tried to reach out to the young voters through FB's large grasp.
